The solutions offered by CEBOS are primarily targeted toward prevention, the velocity of information, and making decisions proactively as opposed to merely adopting a reactive approach. CEBOS aims to implement quality disciplines and process integrity right at the beginning of the process with an increased focus on shifting the industry’s ‘approach to quality’ in the direction of more proactive and functional methods. With an increased emphasis on accelerating the velocity of knowledge that includes the collection of data and transforming that data into actionable information, CEBOS leverages data for enabling organizations to make more proactive decisions. Seadler states, “With an all-round focus on end-to-end operations and specific attention to front-end processes and the new product introduction area, we are all about manufacturing excellence.”
Started in 1995, CEBOS as a joint venture of a highly qualified trio with deep experience in engineering and quality control. After witnessing a market-wide short supply of appropriate solutions required to aid them with their quality measure processes, the founders of CEBOS opted for a client-server offering for their quality management software (QMS) solution focusing initially on automotive quality. As CEBOS’ product garnered traction, the founders decided to move to .NET UI development platform immediately followed by the QAD acquisition of CEBOS in 2013. After assuming the leadership role within the company in 2017, Seadler recalibrated CEBOS’ offering to help customers get on board with industry best practices in quality management while the company moved from clients’ .NET UI to HTML5.
The Delivery Model
CEBOS has a unique methodology of conducting business with their clients. The company focuses largely on assessing their service in terms of business outcomes and the value they can bring to their clients before getting into a commercial agreement with them. CEBOS undertakes a consultative approach to evaluating their client’s operational processes, financial and human resources, and organizational objectives.
The core strength of EQMS is that it is a fully integrated solution that offers end- to- end capabilities and seamless integration
After developing a clear understanding of these factors, CEBOS advises their clients on appropriate methods to leverage best industry practices in quality assurance that comply with production standards of the company and industry standards of QM processes. Through assessment and risk quantification of the manufacturing process, CEBOS determines the potential and tangible benefits that can be availed by the client company upon adopting their QM solutions. CEBOS’ Consulting and Advisory Team works in alliance with their clients’ operational department in order to mitigate configuration challenges and provide a seamless transition from a legacy to a collaborative and integrated QM system.
With laser focus on Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) system at the design stage, CEBOS identifies and regulates risks by effectively reducing the time wasted on excessive re-work and duplicate efforts during the manufacturing process. CEBOS EQMS serves as a vital integrated solution for the client constituting the major differentiating factor in the seamless integration of performance, risk auditing, and training in real time. “The core strength of EQMS is that it is a fully integrated solution that offers end-to-end capabilities and seamless integration. Along with appropriate sources of information collected throughout the manufacturing process; the EQMS provides a high degree of process visibility and integrity,” adds Seadler.
Non-Conformance Management and resulting Corrective Action Management are paramount to the on-going success of the continuous improvement of the process. As well and many times over looked are the process improvements post the close of a corrective action. By leveraging Lessons Learned activities with in put from the production team; long lasting improvements and optimization will be realized. The CEBOS solution functionality facilitates and helps to manage this activity.
The CEBOS EQMS also provides automated manufacturing auditing encompassing layered process audits to meet OEM and other regulatory requirements. Using statistical process control techniques, the EQMS’s inspection functionalities gather inspection reports from machinery and equipment to showcase the production status in real time.
Embedded with additional security features and approvals, the CEBOS Enterprise Quality Management Software (EQMS) is a fully functional document management solution built for documenting end-to-end processes around manufacturing and ensuring the integrity of document control within the manufacturing process. Moreover, CEBOS EQMS also monitors and tracks employee, supervisor, and leadership performance tasks and automatically forwards reminders for additional training, if required. The training management feature of CEBOS EQMS learns from past actions and triggers regular alerts in real time to ensure that there is closed-loop and continuous improvement. To support on-going focus, the CEBOS Performance Management application weaves the management and reporting of key performance metrics into the quality and manufacturing processes so that they are front and center of mindset and awareness as well as facilitating actions and initiatives for further performance improvement.
As for one such instance where CEBOS’ QM expertise stood instrumental in gaining the client’s confidence, Seadler cites the case study of a tier 2 automotive supplier that was availing audit findings from ‘IATF audits’ while facing significant hardships to comply with the regulatory standards. After joining hands with CEBOS, the client witnessed major improvements with 24 audit findings in the first year, 16 in the second year, and four in the year following. A combination of process discipline, cost-effectiveness, and the velocity of data availability significantly drove down the client’s audit numbers. In another implementation, the client had issues with documentation management due to manual handling because of which processes and instructions were continually falling out of place. Collaborating with CEBOS helped them to eliminate documentation challenges and avail seamless access to updated documents in real time.
With a pragmatic approach, CEBOS also has an exceedingly dynamic and innovative work culture. Seadler explains, “Everyone including our development and management teams has a mutually supportive relationship, keenly aligned with encouraging each other to deliver their best. I believe that this cohesiveness and the collaboration is the very essence of our success in the industry.” Equipped with a world-class blend of professionals highly experienced in quality management, CEBOS employs an adept services team and quality management professionals from a practice standpoint. Along with in-depth knowledge of solutions, CEBOS’s professionals are also endowed with business know-how and understanding of the intricacies of the implementation processes. The company also employs deep functional experts for each part of their products and application set along with a strong technical services team that can assist with configuration.
"With an all-round focus on end-to-end operations and specific attention to front-end processes and the new product introduction area, we are all about manufacturing excellence"
In addition to the application and business outcome focus; the CEBOS Team is moving rapidly to customer self-sufficiency with technology that will enable the customer organization to tailor the system using extensions rather than invasive customizations which have plagued many software offerings with performance issues and laborious system management. The CEBOS focus is to make the customer as self-sufficient as possible; with the ability to self-tailor but maintain the CEBOS solution code and database integrity and eliminating the need for invasive customizations.
Currently, cruising along the trajectory of rapid growth, CEBOS has drafted a future roadmap, which includes plans to invest in augmenting smart operations across manufacturing companies and helping them move away from technical dependency on service organizations. “We are presently focused on enhancing the velocity of information availability, and facilitating data capture capability and visibility across manufacturing enterprises. This will be a step in the direction of reinforcing proactive decision making,” concludes Seadler.
